Not only did I have the opportunity to personally congratulate TAFE NSW awardees at the Riverina’s graduation ceremony, I was able to meet some amazing residents too.

Science graduate Mehwish Adnan (pictured), who took out the Rotary Leadership award, said her studies had ignited a passion for greater learning.

“I’m so excited,” Ms Adnan said. “I want to do something to help people.”

Mother-of-two Tara Martin stole the crowd after she was named student of the year for 2018.

An inspiration, the 34-year-old overcame the loss her husband earlier this year to accomplish her goals; completing her certificate III in cookery and earning accolades at the same time.

I wish to congratulate not only these exemplary women, but every graduate and award winner at today’s graduation.
