Digital Media and Communications - Expression of Interest

Expressions of interest are being sought for an individual or firm to assist with digital media and communications for Dr Joe McGirr, Independent Member for Wagga. Dr Joe is committed to delivering quality, informative communications with constituents and the broader public. We are looking for a specialist in digital media who can support the delivery of key messages to different audiences and across various mediums. This role requires strong experience in social media and website management.

 The successful applicant will possess:

  • Significant experience in digital media and communications

  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills

  • Strong skills in photography, videography, video editing and content planning

  • Highly organised with great attention to detail

  • An interest in, and understanding of, the NSW Government

  • A sound knowledge of the Wagga Wagga electorate

Working with Dr Joe and his office the position will be responsible for:

Social Media Management

  • Plan and post daily content across Instagram and Facebook

  • Maintain a strong brand aesthetic and voice across all social platform visuals and captions

  • Manage engagement with followers

  • Report monthly on content performance, engagement, reach and follower growth

Content Creation

  • Capture stills and video

  • Edit imagery and video for use across social media, email and website

  • Ensure all new content is stored and shared efficiently with relevant team members

Website Management

  • Manage, monitor and update website

  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues

 Written Communications

  • Assist Research Officer with writing tasks such as speech writing and Community Recognition Statements for parliament

The role is part-time, remote and on a contract basis. 

The role will require out of hours work for social media monitoring and posting. EOIs should include costings.

 Selection Criteria

  • Significant experience planning and delivering social media campaigns

  • Experience in website management

  • Experience creating written communications

  • Experience with photography and videography

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • An interest in, and understanding of, the NSW Government

  • Understanding of the Wagga Wagga electorate and local matters
