I was honoured to have been invited to attend the opening of the Tim Fisher Gallery at the Lockhart Museum.

What a wonderful tribute it is to a great Australian, and a credit to the community of Lockhart.

As an added bonus, the opening came just a day before the former Deputy Prime Minister’s birthday.

Tim was presented with a cake, and a rousing “Happy Birthday” from the crowd.

As part of the ceremony Tim started up the tractor pictured - the very first one he owned , which - much like Tim himself - did not have a reverse gear!
