I have received reassurance the promised $1 million Adelong Police Station will go ahead, despite delays.

In answer to my question in parliament, Minister for Police David Elliot said a process was underway to purchase land for the upgraded facility. The long overdue rebuild of the currently 159-year-old site was announced in June 2018, with the NSW Government indicating work would begin in the first half of 2019. One year on, Adelong residents said they were concerned about a lack of progress.

Minister Elliott’s response, in addition to the $817,000 allocation in the 2019-2020 budget, reaffirmed the government’s plan to upgrade the out-dated station as originally planned. I will continue to monitor this development with interest.
