Over the weekend I attended a commemorative service, marking 103 years since the Charge of the Light Horse Brigade at Beersheba in 1917.

It was a very moving ceremony organised by the Riverina and South West Slopes Light Horse Memorial Committee, and Riverina Light Horse Troop.

It was wonderful to hear the Deputy PM Michael McCormack announce during the service $150,000 funding for the erection of a light horse statue to honour the brave Australian soldiers, and their horses.
