WORK COMMENCES ON WAGGA WAGGA MULTISPORT CYCLING COMPLEX

It was fantastic to be on hand yesterday as work officially commenced on Wagga Wagga’s new $9.2 million multisport cycling complex at Pomingalarna Reserve.

The first sod was turned by Acting Minister for Sport Geoff Lee using traditional indigenous digging sticks; signifying the beginning of a project which will see 300 jobs created during the construction of the complex.

I would like to thank the Wiradjuri and First Nations Women of the Wagga Wagga region for the enormous contribution they made in bringing the Pomingalarna project to fruition.

A shout-out also goes out to the local cycle clubs that have worked so hard and collaboratively with council during this process.

I look forward the wide-ranging benefits this complex will provide the region.

📸: The traditional digging sticks used for the sod-turning were made by Wiradjuri man Peter Ingram.
