Yesterday I was on hand to help unveil Riverina Water’s new $44M Water Treatment Plant, which will assist in providing safe drinking water for our city’s growing population over the next three decades.
Chairperson Clr Greg Verdon and myself officially opened the state-of-the-art facility; the largest piece of infrastructure Riverina Water has constructed.
Some impressive stats on the project:
› $44M project (100% community funded through $30M Riverina Water reserves and
$14M TCorp loan)
› 850 tonnes of concrete laid across 7000 cubic metres
› A kilometre of below and above ground pipes
› 45km of electrical cabling
› 30 chemical dosing pumps
› 6 high lift pumps
› 3 raw water pumps here at the intake
