It was great to welcome Premier Dom Perrottet, and Minister for Regional Health, Bronnie Taylor, to Wagga Wagga today. Alongside myself, both acknowledged and thanked the incredible work of nurses, doctors, testing clinic staff and other health workers during the pandemic, both here in Wagga Wagga, and across the state.
Double vaccination rates in our electorate are over 95%, this is absolutely fantastic, and a key factor in ensuring severe illness and hospitalisation rates remain low.
The Premier highlighted the work being done, and the work yet to be done, on the health precinct, and acknowledged my advocacy on gaining state funding for this.
Lastly, the Premier acknowledged the delays being experienced in testing, and asked that people only get a PCR test if they are required to, i.e., they have symptoms, they have been advised by NSW Health to get tested, or they need to get tested in order to travel.
