I was very pleased with the strong turnout and support for the launch of the Batlow United Community Chamber on Sunday. The meeting was positive and clearly reflected the enormous work the community has been doing and I congratulate them on this continuing hard work.

In the year since the Batlow Recovery Forum, which I convened along with Resilience NSW and federal Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain a tremendous amount of work has been done in the wake of the Dunns Road bushfire.

The new Batlow United Community Chamber will allow residents to share work on plans and projects for the renewal of Batlow and the region and to focus on emerging needs and working together to create a united vision for Batlow.

Both Kristy and I felt that the progress and activity in Batlow since the fires have been simply inspiring.
