On Friday evening I had the absolute privilege of attending the Rural Fire Service National Emergency Medal and Long Service Medal presentations in Batlow.
It was a wonderful night, celebrating those who put their lives on the line defending the "undefendable" Batlow, during the 2019/20 bushfires.
Minister for Emergency Services and Resilience, Steph Cooke, presided, alongside Superintendent Jon Gregory, and Deputy Commissioner Kyle Stewart representing RFS Commissioner, Rob Rogers. Great to see Snowy Valleys Mayor, Ian Chaffey, and Deputy Mayor, Trina Thompson there also.
Well done to all, and THANK YOU for your service to your community.
Thanks also to the organisers of this event, for recognising the efforts of these individuals in our community.
