I had the pleasure of presenting a surprise NSW Community Service Award to Bob and Diane Smith at the Lions Club dinner earlier this week.
For more than 20 years, Bob and Dianne Smith have been active members of Wagga Wagga South Lions Club. Both have held leadership roles in the local club and in the broader District.
Currently, Bob is President of the club and Director for the Save Sight Foundation for the District, while Dianne is Cabinet Secretary for the District.
Their ongoing commitment to helping where needed has led to them developing an admirable legacy within the club. The ongoing success of clubs like Wagga Wagga South Lions is thanks to the work of humble, generous individuals such as Bob and Dianne.
Beyond Lions, they both volunteer weekly with Meals on Wheels, volunteer with Mainly Music working with local children, are active members of Wagga Wagga Veteran and Vintage Motor Club, while Bob also volunteers at the RAAF Base Wagga Heritage Centre and Dianne's a member of Wagga's Day VIEW Club.
Bob and Diane are both extremely deserving recipients of the NSW Government Community Service Award, as I'm certain anyone who has crossed paths with them will agree.
