Harrowing but important stories were shared when the Parliamentary Inquiry into Birth Trauma sat in Wagga yesterday morning.

Women who suffered distressing experiences giving birth in the local health district bravely shared those stories in the hope of saving others from similar troubles in future.

I was encouraged to hear that some improvements have been made since advocacy for change started, but much more needs to be done to ensure health services listen to women and put their needs first in future.

Thank you to the inquiry team for visiting our community to gain evidence into this very important issue and I look forward to some recommendations aimed at making a real difference.
