The repair and redevelopment of the Wagga Wagga Public School has been an ongoing project in the community that has had considerable feedback from the school and the community.
A terrible fire in January 2019 destroyed one of the major school buildings that hosted multiple classrooms for students.
I am pleased to say that the damage is nearly repaired and ongoing renovations to the buildings and to the school as a whole has been very pleasing!
Grassy lawn areas have been expanded
New Classrooms have been built with upgrades suitable to a modern learning environment.
An elevator has been installed and a walkway established between the two main buildings. No child should be unable to access their classroom because of disability
The Out of School Care facility has been restored.
On my recent visit I also observed the first Nations mural has been created as a permanent artwork inside the school and the new covered soft surface play areas.
I would like to thank Principal Nada Pokoney and her team for their leadership, creative thinking and community collaboration.
And I want to thank and congratulate staff, parents, families and children for persevering over the past three years and working to achieve what reflects the great educational environment that is Wagga Wagga Public School.
