had a great time learning about the Battlefields to Footy Fields Program at the Invictus Australia “All Things NRL” Defence Community Day over the weekend, thanks to one of the first graduates of the program, Troy Burgess.
The program provides a pathway for current and former veterans to become NRL officials, coaches, assistant coaches, trainers and administrators, fully supporting participants to achieve their goals.
It was great to see representatives of the Wagga Magpies and Wagga Kangaroos football clubs in attendance, who have been working with Invictus Australia on this initiative which is a fantastic opportunity here in Wagga Wagga.
While I was there it was wonderful to meet Ian Mortimer and Wayne Walsh from local rugby league clubs, ahead of the big clash between the Dolphins and the Raiders!
