It was a pleasure to welcome Planning and Public Spaces Minister Paul Scully to Wagga today for a roundtable targeting the city’s housing challenges.
Community leaders including Wagga City Council, Committee4Wagga, housing agencies and business and industry groups took the opportunity to discuss with the minister how planning and development improvements can be used to create more desperately needed homes in our city.
As part of the minister’s visit, I was joined by Serena Hardwick and David Hunter from Business NSW on a tour of Wagga’s Prefabulous site, where managing director Gavin King explained how modular homes might help to fill some of that housing gap.
Thanks to everyone who contributed their ideas today.
