Yesterday I attended the Vietnam Veterans Day sevice at the Victory Memorial Gardens, commemorating the 1966 Battle of Long Tan.
In total, 60,000 Australians served throughout the conflict, and yesterday we acknowledged the sacrifice of all of these service people, and the 523 who lost their lives.
Pictured with me are Mayor, Councillor Dallas Tout, Ralph Todd, Secretary Riverina Vietnam Veterans, Ray Smith, Director, Veteran's Wheel, Hewitt Whyman, Aboriginal elder, Australian Defence Force Kapooka, and Rod Cooper, President, Wagga RSL sub-branch.
