Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Snowy Valleys Council Australia Day celebrations – what an incredible day to honour the amazing people in the community!

A huge congratulations to Hannah Spears from Adelong, a well-deserved Citizen of the Year, as well as to all the nominees, John Scott from Talbingo and Matt Pearce from Adelong. Your contributions to our region are truly inspiring!

Shoutout to Hannah Rankin, our impressive Young Citizen of the Year, and to Bindi Vanzella, awarded Environmental Citizen of the Year, for their incredible efforts in shaping a brighter future for our community.

It was also wonderful to welcome back Mr. Bob Turner, our Australia Day Ambassador, to the Snowy Valleys – his words and presence are always a highlight. And of course, a big thank you to councillor Julia Ham, SVC Mayor, for her leadership and for being part of such a special event.

This is a time to celebrate the remarkable people who make our communities thrive, and yesterday was a perfect reminder of the heart and spirit we have in the Snowy Valleys.
