It was an honour to join family members of the late Bill Jacob to officially open the newly upgraded Bill Jacob Athletics Centre at Jubilee Park today.

The multi-million-dollar redevelopment has created a state-of-the-art sports centre for local and visiting athletes and will be a hub for regional, state and national events.

The centre is a tribute to Bill Jacob, who was a driving force in local athletics and a mentor to athletes for four decades – and as one of his daughters said today, “We are proud of our dad, and we know he’d be proud of this.”

Thanks to Wagga City Council and the NSW Government for the hard work and funding support to make this dream a reality.
