It was a great pleasure to join the Murrumbidgee Local Health District team today to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Acute Services Building at Wagga Base Hospital.
Discussions on the need for a new hospital in Wagga began back in the nineties and while I was working in my former role with the health service, I was inspired by the visionary thinking that led to the development of a new hospital that we can all be proud of.
It would not have happened without the dedication and determination of clinicians, management and of course a can-do community that made the new hospital a reality.
Our hospital is a tribute to Wagga Wagga and stands as testament to the community spirit that envisaged and delivered this excellent facility. Congratulations and thanks to all involved.
