It was inspiring to join South Wagga Rotary's Rocky Hill regeneration volunteers to inspect the amazing environmental works taking place on the hill, thanks to the commitment and hard work of volunteers digging in for a healthier local environment.

The volunteers have planted hundreds of native trees and removed countless woody weeds at Rocky Hill Reserve, creating habitat for native species and helping to strengthen this important space as a community conservation site.

A highlight of my visit was seeing the group’s motorised wheelbarrows, used to transport mulch, water and other items across the 52-hectare site, were funded by a Community Building Partnership Grant.

Thank you to all volunteers for their many hundreds of hours of hard work to restore and protect this special site in the heart of our city.
