Funding opportunity: Applications to Regional Community Energy program closing soon

There is only a few days left to submit applications for the first round of the Regional Community Energy Fund.

This program supports community energy projects in regional NSW to increase renewable energy generation, improve energy security and help communities to save money on electricity bills.

The program has three streams:

  1. Grants from the Regional Community Energy Fund for projects that are innovative or generate on-demand renewable energy and benefit the local community.

  1. Funding for community energy hubs that improve household and small business access to expert energy advice.

  2. Funding for regional and remote communities to install emergency backup systems for key evacuation locations to increase disaster resilience.

The closing date for first-stream applications is 23:59 (AEST) 3 May 2019.

Applications for the other program streams are set to open later this year.

The fund is designed to support the growth of the regional community energy sector and improve the reliability and affordability of energy for communities in regional NSW.
