HERITAGE GRANTS FOR WAGGA WAGGA ELECTORATE
Heritage in the electorate of Wagga Wagga is set to benefit from $69,000 in grants under the NSW Government Heritage Grants Program, Member for Wagga Wagga, Dr Joe McGirr announced today.
Dr McGirr said these grants would help local communities across NSW to know, value and care for heritage.
“Grants of $12,000 each have been provided to Wagga Wagga City Council, Lockhart Shire Council and Snowy Valleys Council,” he said.
“All three councils have also received an additional $11,000 each to be spent on local heritage programs
“Our heritage brings benefit to all the community, enriching our lives, improving our wellbeing and helping to stimulate the local economy. I congratulate these grant recipients for their contribution to protecting and celebrating our heritage.
Minister responsible for Heritage Don Harwin said “these grant projects will help ensure that our heritage is conserved and maintained for future generations. We want to actively engage communities in understanding and promoting the fascinating stories of our state.”
The 2021-23 grants will see $5.5 million awarded to over 220 projects statewide across three categories: Aboriginal Cultural Heritage, Caring for State Heritage and Community Heritage.
