NSW STATE BUDGET AND THE WAGGA WAGGA ELECTORATE

The NSW Treasurer, Dominic Perrottet, delivered his budget last week with some pleasing funding allocations for the Wagga Wagga Electorate. These include funding for the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital Car Park, continued development of the Tumut Hospital, active cycling pathways throughout Wagga Wagga, the Special Activation Precinct at Bomen, Marshall's Creek Bridge, the Riverside Precinct, and funding for the completion of Estella Public School.

I'm disappointed to see little funding for initiatives stemming from the NSW 'Ice' Inquiry, and am in the process of confirming funding for the rebuilding of Wagga Wagga Public School. The investment in social housing announced in the budget is also welcome, however, we know there needs to be more.

On Tuesday afternoon, myself and fellow Independent MPs Greg Piper and Alex Greenwich met personally with the Treasurer to emphasise the importance of social housing, mental health and funding the recommendations of the 'Ice' inquiry. The treasurer was receptive and the discussion productive.
