I would like to thank the Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services, Member for Kiama Gareth Ward for taking the time to visit Wagga Wagga city, following his appointment earlier this month.
I was delighted to accompany Minister Ward on his tour of Wagga Wagga city, meeting with community members and representatives of the Riverina Juvenile Justice Centre, Tolland Community Centre, the local FACS office and Riverina Medical and Dental Aboriginal Corporation today.
I would also like to congratulate Minister Ward for taking such a proactive approach to the role, having traveled to the electorate for a jam-packed trip to witness the good work being achieved across the department’s Wagga-based services and to hear about challenges firsthand.
It was wonderful to hear Minister Ward reaffirm the government’s commitment to delivering the promises it made to Wagga Wagga across both elections and I am looking forward to following the progress of these projects.
I’m looking forward to working with Minister Ward and the government to ensure members of our electorate, who rely on Families, Communities and Disability Services, feel they are both safe and supported.
