Yesterday Greg Piper MP, Alex Greenwich and I - as Independent cross bench members - released this joint statement of support for Energy and Environment Minister Matt Kean MP's Electricity Infrastructure Bill.

The bill reflects the need to work with communities in the future to genuinely take account of their concerns early in the planning of electricity infrastructure.

There have been significant lessons learnt from our experience with TransGrid’s ‘Humelink’ proposal. I will be moving an amendment to strengthen this consultation further.
