KOREAN WAR CEASEFIRE COMMEMORATION

This morning I attended the commemorative service marking 68 years since the Korean War Ceasefire.

It was an honour to lay a wreath and be part of this very moving ceremony in memory of our service personnel.

The 27 July 1953 armistice marked the end of a three year war in which over 17,000 Australians served. During the conflict 340 Australian soldiers were killed, over 1,216 wounded, and a further 29 had become prisoners of war.
