Members of Wagga Wagga’s Tibetan community now have access to a range of books in Tibetan, thanks to the NSW State Library.
This is a fantastic initiative, making reading inclusive for all of our community!
The books were handed over to the library as part of the biannual gathering of Tibetan community organisations, which including representatives from Queensland, ACT, Victoria and across NSW.
It was wonderful to catch up with members of the Tibetan community once again at the handing over of the books, including Kalsang Tsering, current president of the Australian Tibetan Community Councils, Karma Singey and Phuntsok Doring, representatives of the Tibetan Parliament in exile and of his Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Jimpa Gyatso, President of the Wagga Wagga Tibetan association.
Thank you also to library manager, Christine Bolton, and CEO of the Multicultural Council, Belinda Crain, for their wonderful work.
These books are now available to loan at the Wagga Wagga Library.
