Last week I attended the launch of CareH, an exciting new initiative designed to care for our community by delivering more urgently-needed nurses to the region.

Can I congratulate the founders Rashid Samad, Syam Mohan, and Lijin James for this innovative and imaginative approach to meeting our region’s health staffing needs.

As a medical professional and a passionate advocate for improvements in rural and regional health care, I am well aware that good health care can only be provided by good people.

Building a workforce with the right training, experience and professionalism coupled with care and empathy are crucial to meeting our healthcare needs and with a focus on the critical services provided by nurses and others, I’m excited to see this private sector initiative taking on the challenge.
