What a pleasure it was to join students and teachers from Snowy Valleys schools this week as part of the inaugural Snowy Valleys Heroes Competition.

Students of all ages were asked to interpret what remembrance means to them in a range of creative options such as posters, artworks, digital creations, stories and poems.

It was a fantastic effort by all involved and I’d like to congratulate the students and teachers, project manager Zita Vafiopulous, assisted by Aunty Winnie Bulger. Thanks also to the Bendigo Bank for its sponsorship.

Returning next year, the competition has shown preserving the legacy of those deserving remembrance is in good hands for the future.
