What a pleasure it was to join the team from the Riverina Regional Library and the Lockhart community to celebrate the arrival at Lockhart today of the brand-new mobile library service packed with the latest books, DVDs audio books and other services.
The “Readers’ Rig” rolled into Lockhart, bringing books for all ages and interests, educational programs, internet access and friendly staff to help readers with all their needs.
Serving 18 communities in Lockhart and Snowy Valleys Shires as well as other council areas in our region, the new rig ensures people in small communities will have the same access to library services as those provided in library branches.
Pictured with me helping me to celebrate the arrival were RRL manager Karen Wendt, project manager Zac Armistead, Matt Holt from Lockhart Shire and Mayor Peter Sharp. Congratulations to all involved!
