100 YEARS OF BIDGEEMIA HALL

It was wonderful to see almost 200 people come together to celebrate a century of this much-loved community hall.

There was a real sense of pride in the room, and rightly so. Bidgeemia Hall has been part of this district since 1926 and, 100 years later, it remains an important gathering place for the local community.

One of the highlights of the day was the Light Horse leading a parade of trucks and tractors – a fitting way to mark the occasion and honour the district's history.

I was pleased to join Cr Fran Day and Cr Peter Sharp from Lockhart Shire Council, Bidgeemia Hall Committee President Chris Ralston and Vice President John McFarlane, and Justin Clancy MP, Member for Albury, for the unveiling of the centenary plaque.

Congratulations to the hall committee and everyone who has contributed to caring for the hall over the years, as well as all those who helped make Sunday's celebration such a success.

A big thank you to Lisa Ralston, Chris Maddon and Paul Creek for their wonderful work on the hall's history.

Happy 100th birthday, Bidgeemia Hall.
