A lot has changed in firefighting at Lockhart over the decades, but one thing has remained the same – the diligence and dedication of generations of firefighters who have kept the community safe.

I joined emergency services leaders and local firefighters to celebrate the brigade’s centenary.

The contribution of the brigade is enormous, and the longevity of its members is testament to the pride they feel in serving their community.

Since 1926, there have only been six brigade captains, with current leader Jamey Anderson notching up 24 years in the role.

Today I was proud to join the celebrations with David Flynn (who received long service recognition), Jon Bartolo, Jamey Anderson (long service and national medal), Taryn Aggar, Nick Matthews, Tim Reed and Bobby Schneider.

Congratulations and thank you to all for your amazing service.
