YOUNG FARMERS TALK RURAL HEALTH

It was great to sit down with NSW young farmers at parliament this week to talk through the Rural Health Action Plan.

Meeting them really brought home how closely health and agriculture are connected. If we want young people to build a career on the land and stay in our regional communities, they need to know there are quality health services close to home, with doctors and nurses they can actually see face to face.

People won't put down roots in a town when getting basic care means driving hours down the highway. Strong local health services are one of the biggest reasons families choose to live and work in the regions, and that's why I'll keep pushing to make sure rural and regional health gets the funding and priority it deserves.
