Crime spree a cause for concern
An increase in violent crime, amid a recent spate of armed robberies has Wagga residents concerned, according to Prime 7, and this is a concern I share.
Community safety has always been and remains a top priority for me as the Member for Wagga. That is why we campaigned to increase police numbers last year.
The State Government in November announced it would fund 1500 extra NSW police officers across four years, which was a great result. The arrival of six additional probationary constables within the Riverina Police District in December was even more encouraging and I look forward to future additions to our local ranks.
In the meantime, I have been in contact with residents, members of the Riverina Police District and Neighbourhood Watch, with the intention of bringing the community together to address current crime-related issues across Wagga.
Where I can make change and increase the safety of our electorate, I will do so and I welcome suggestions and feedback from members of the community.
