MORE STIMULUS UPGRADES FOR LOCAL SHOWGROUNDS

It was fantastic to see this week five local showgrounds in our electorate approved for upgrade works to improve the accessibility, safety, usage and condition of their infrastructure, while supporting jobs in the local economy.

Batlow, Adelong, Tumut, Wagga Wagga and Lockhart showgrounds will receive a share of the $10.77 M in showground funding that will support 129 projects at 71 showgrounds across NSW.

The local recipients are:

●       $120,000 for Batlow Showground supply and install new fencing around the oval

●       $97,000 for Tumut Showground for the installation of underground power cables

●       $10,000 for Adelong Showground to upgrade its dining and kitchen area and install a new cool room

●       $85,462 for Wagga Wagga Showground for an upgrade to its amenities area

●       $81,239 for Lockhart Showground to seal the internal access road.

Minister for Water, Property and Housing Melinda Pavey said the extra funding will provide a boost for communities and their economies by supporting tradies and building material suppliers with work, while strengthening showground infrastructure for the future.
