NSW SETS NEW AIRPORT ARRIVAL LIMITS

Overseas arrivals in Sydney will be capped at 350 passengers per day from 12:01am Monday 20 July after a new agreement was reached with the Commonwealth Government.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the decision is a necessary step to ensure NSW remains in a strong position to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said the reduced cap will not only help the management of hotel quarantine but assist NSW in firing up the economy.

The 350 passenger per day cap is 100 passengers less than the previous cap, which was introduced on Sunday 5 July.

As of Saturday 18 July, returning travellers are now charged for hotel quarantine, unless the flight was purchased before 11:59pm 12 July AEST.
