I was delighted and blown away by the efforts and generous spirit of the school community - including staff, parents, students - the Department of Education, emergency service members and others, following the devastating fire at Wagga Wagga Public School last month.
Principal Leanne Harvey said the school had really made lemonade out of the lemons it was dealt when the heritage building was destroyed, taking with it six infant classrooms and two offices.
One month on, an impressive combined effort has lead to a seamless transition into the first week of term one for teachers and students.
Can I just say well done to everyone involved and thank you to the Department of Education for a swift response to a heartbreaking incident.
