At a time of global unrest, it was inspiring to meet delegates at the Australian South East Asian Summit (ASEAN) in parliament to discuss human rights, domestic violence, heat issues and foreign affairs.

The summit made an important statement in support of its theme, Promoting Social Cohesion and Australian Values.

I was proud to work with attendees to address issues that affect us all, regardless of where we live, and I thank the organisers for giving parliamentarians an opportunity to support efforts to make our world a kinder, more cohesive place.
