PARKINSON'S AWARENESS AT PARLIAMENT

It was wonderful to attend a Parliamentary Friends of Parkinson’s event at parliament this week – a thought-provoking and inspiring opportunity to learn more about how we can all do more to raise awareness and money to help people with Parkinson’s and their families.

As co-chair of the group, I enjoyed learning more about how everyday movement can make a life-changing difference for people with the condition.

Exercise stations using weights and other restraints were set up to demonstrate how simple movements, such as signing your name, can be a big challenge for Parkinson’s patients and I can attest that the exercises were anything but easy!

With more than 70,000 people in NSW facing Parkinson’s every day, you can do your bit to raise vital funds for support, services and care by joining “Step Up For Parkinson’s” this May. Register here - https://www.stepupforparkinsons.org.au/DA5DF2
