CLUBGRANTS DELIVER BOOST FOR TUMUT COMMUNITY

With more than $4 million in ClubGrants awarded for 26 projects this week, it was fantastic to see a Tumut-based project in the list of recipients.

The Tumut Minor Rugby League Association has been successful in securing nearly $300,000 in grant funding, which will see sports lighting and electrical infrastructure replaced.

More than 950 players use the training facilities every week, and so the replacement of existing flood lighting and electrical infrastructure with modern LED sports lighting, will facilitate a safer training environment for a big portion of the community.

ClubGrants funding covers projects across sport and recreation, arts and culture, disaster readiness and essential community infrastructure.

Minister for Customer Service Victor Dominello said the $12.5 million yearly program is aimed at funding projects to build or upgrade community facilities, and this round gave special consideration for projects to repair and rebuild community assets affected by bushfires.

Since 2015, the NSW Government has funded more than 350 community projects worth $62 million under the Infrastructure Grants program.

Applications for the next round of funding open from Monday, 21 September 2020.
